The Youth-Led Policy Advocacy Project is a dynamic initiative by Spark for Innovation and Creativity. It is designed to empower Gaza’s youth to shape policies that impact their lives and communities actively. By focusing on education, environmental sustainability, employment, rights, freedoms, and citizenship, the project seeks to create a generation of informed and proactive advocates for positive change.

Project Objectives

  1. Empower Youth Leadership: Equip young people with the knowledge and skills to analyze, research, and propose policy solutions to address local challenges.
  2. Promote Rights and Freedoms: Foster awareness of fundamental rights, freedoms, and the principles of active citizenship.
  3. Encourage Civic Engagement: Build a culture of participation where youth play a central role in advocating for inclusive and progressive policies.
  4. Drive Sustainable Development: Align youth advocacy efforts with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to support education, environmental resilience, and job creation.

Core Components

Policy Research and Training
This component includes workshops on policy analysis, advocacy strategies, and public speaking. Participants are trained to identify key issues, collect data, and present evidence-based proposals effectively.

Advocacy Campaigns
Youth-led campaigns are launched to address topics such as access to education, job creation, environmental sustainability, and freedom of expression. These initiatives utilize creative tools like infographics, videos, and social media to amplify youth voices.

Dialogue and Collaboration
This component facilitates discussions between youth, policymakers, and community leaders to foster understanding and collaboration. Public forums are organized for youth to present their proposals and solutions to stakeholders.

Civic Rights and Citizenship Education
Youth are educated about their rights and responsibilities as active citizens. The program promotes dialogue on freedom of speech, inclusion, and the role of youth in governance.

Youth Advocacy Hubs
Dedicated spaces are established for youth to collaborate on advocacy initiatives, develop policy briefs, and strategize action plans to achieve impactful outcomes.

Through the Youth-Led Policy Advocacy Project, Spark aims to empower Gaza’s youth to take the lead in advocating for a just, equitable, and sustainable future, ensuring their voices are heard and their contributions valued in building a resilient community.
