This image was captured during the closing moment of the Nafas Initiative, which concluded with a nature-based retreat at Spark for Innovation & Creativity’s farm.

After weeks of creative and psychosocial sessions, Nafas ended not with a formal event, but with a simple, human gathering in an open, green space—where participants could breathe, reflect, and reconnect with themselves and with one another.

The final retreat offered something deeply needed:
time away from pressure, shared moments, and a sense of calm created through presence, cooperation, and nature. Preparing food together, sitting outdoors, and engaging in informal conversations became part of the healing process itself.

At Spark, we believe that psychosocial support does not always happen in classrooms or structured sessions. Sometimes, it happens around a shared meal, under trees, in moments where safety is felt rather than explained.

The Nafas Initiative was designed to provide girls with tools for emotional expression, release, and resilience. Its closing retreat embodied these values—reminding us that healing is not only about activities, but about space, trust, and human connection.

This moment reflects what Nafas stood for:
creating room to breathe, even in the most constrained realities.
