This initiative creates temporary learning environments with essential resources, ensuring that children can continue their education amidst the destruction, instability, and displacement caused by the ongoing conflict.

Project Objectives

  • Ensure Access to Education: Provide safe and accessible learning spaces for children affected by the war in Gaza, ensuring their right to education is upheld.
  • Support Displaced Students: Address the unique needs of children who have lost their homes and schools, offering stability and hope through continued learning.
  • Foster Resilience and Recovery: Use education as a tool to help children and communities rebuild and recover amidst the challenges of conflict.

 

Core Components

  • Temporary Learning Spaces:
    Establish fully equipped tents in displacement camps, transforming them into functional classrooms with desks, learning materials, and basic infrastructure.
  • Resource Distribution:
    Provide children with essential educational supplies, including textbooks, stationery, and digital tools, ensuring quality education in crisis settings.
  • Teacher Training and Support:
    Equip teachers with specialized training to address the emotional and educational needs of displaced students in a conflict setting.
  • Integrated Psychosocial Support:
    Incorporate psychosocial activities and counseling into the learning process to help children cope with trauma and build emotional resilience.

 

Impact

The School in a Tent Project offers more than a continuation of education; it provides children in Gaza with a sense of safety, hope, and normalcy during times of conflict.
